The Advocacy Team is a branch of YHHAP dedicated to addressing hunger and homelessness at an institutional level. The team typically consists of a small cohort of volunteers that collaborate researching, drafting policy recommendations, and weighing in on pending legislation related to our mission.
YHHAP often partners to expand advocacy, including: YHHAP holds a key chair on New Haven's Homeless Advisory Commission; supports the de-criminalization of homeless-ness measures proposed by the Lowenstein Law Clinic; and promotes the Yale Policy Lab.
Becoming an Advocate
The head of the advocacy team holds a chair on the YHHAP executive board. Their contact information can be found here. All Yalies are welcome to participate; although, in some semesters an application is required.
